How to find a good domain name post thumbnail image

So often time, when you try to find a good domain name for your new website, it’s already taken. In this post, I’m gonna show you how to quickly find a domain name that matches your original idea while saving you tons of time.

You probably have been in this situation. Let’s say you wanted to create a website. You had got an awesome idea of the website name, e.g. domain name. Then you wanted to buy the domain name but unluckily, that domain name has already been taken, or it was too expensive. You came up with another idea, the same thing kept happening.

You would end up with a not so good domain name that was acceptable but you were not really happy with that. You might end up spending hours just for choosing a domain name. Or you might give up because this very first step was already daunting.

You desired domain name might be already taken
Or too expensive

Hosting, domain selling websites such as Godaddy or Namecheap provides you tools for searching available domain names but that’s pretty limited. As you can see in the above screenshots. They normally change the top level domain (TLD) from .com to .net, .co, .live…, or they might have very slightly change suggestion to your domain name. That’s not enough and you’ll have to guest other names by yourself.

Dynadot is a really great tool that takes your original idea and gives you wide varieties of options. What it’s gonna do is to break your original idea down to single words and give you alternatives that might be used to replace the original idea.

For example. You wanted to create a website similar to passiveincome247.com but obviously it has already been taken. Otherwise, you are not reading this article originally from its source. Dynadot domain suggestion tool is gonna break the domain name into 4 parts including: passive, income, 247, com. Each of these words are replaceable by its synonyms or closely related words.

“Passive” might be replaced by simple, smarter, predictable…. “Income” might be replaced by cash, wealth, funds… “247” might be replaced by 365, 101, fast… So on and so forth. You’ll end up with similar yet available domain names such as SimpleCash247.com or SimpleCashFast.com

Start with passiveincome247.com
You might end up with SImpleIncome247.com
or SimpleCashFast.com

Another example. Let’s say you start with just money.com. Of course that simple short domain name has already been taken. With Dynadot domain suggestion tool, it allows you to add prefix and suffix to the domain name so that the original idea is kept but you’ll end up with available domain names. In this case, the prefix would be easy, big, fast, simple… the suffix would be tips, maker, flow…

Adding those prefix makes your domain longer yet the original meaning would stay the same. Longer domain doesn’t hurt but it actually helps with your search engine optimization (SEO) as well. It also doesn’t look terrible at all. FreeFinanceTips.com, FastMoneyGuide.com. These domain names are equivalently effective as money.com. Those are better for SEO, available for buying and better for SEO. What would you choose? If you still want to stick with short domain name, then money.online is available in this case.

started with money.com
you might end up with fastmoneyguide.com
or money.online

I have put together a video tutorial that might help you get a better idea of how to use the Dynadot domain suggestion tool. Hopefully that will help you save tons of time researching for domain name and focus on other important tasks.
